The euro, a stable currency that is about to grow even further
Thursday, May 16, 2013
In an interview with Bloomberg.com, Finnish minister Alexander Stubb says the debt crisis has actually underscored the euro’s durability instead of undermining its credibility. Policy makers have made the legal adjustments needed to help the euro survive the problems of the past three years and the currency bloc is now ready to absorb a further eight nations, he said.
According to him, the euro is irreversible as it is the most stable currency Europe has ever seen and he doesn’t even consider the possibility that the euro brakes up. He actually only sees the euro growing to 24 to 25 member states within a few years which make it an even stronger currency because it will become more widely supported. This is also very positive for American companies that want to do business in Europe.
Since the euro was introduced in 2000, the number of countries that use the currency has grown from 11 to 17. The newest member, Estonia, joined in the middle of the financial crisis while Latvia is preparing to join next year. Although the legal framework around the euro initially wasn’t good enough to withstand the stresses of the debt crisis, legislators have now done the necessary work to ensure its survival and to make sure this never happens again.

New partner for our retail unit
Tuesday, May 7, 2013
We are proud to announce that another company has chosen us to develop their European activities. Last week they started with our business development program and during that time we have already set up their fully operational European office.
Our newest partner is a young organization that offers accessories for the iPhone, iPad, Galaxy Tab and other products. Their product range includes screen protectors and carrying cases that are designed and manufactured based on high quality, environmentally friendly materials. A unique part of their concept is that, for every case sold, a donation is done to local charity; furthermore, a percentage of the price goes to the local artist that made the design on the cover. The goal of our retail unit is to extend this success into Europe.

EuroDev helped US client to establish own subsidiary in Europe
Friday, April 26, 2013
After 9 years of successful cooperation, the time has come to separate ways with one of our ‘oldest’ partners. This company, active in industrial heating, has experienced our one-stop shop concept firsthand while our partnership went through different stages in which different services were used. We started with business development activities, but a few years further into the program it evolved to supporting them with their back office processes in Europe; HR, logistics and administration. Now they have reached a phase where they will be setting up their own entity in the Netherlands.
The company will be moving into their own building where they will have offices, a laboratory and warehouse capabilities that will serve their future expansion plans. Besides the physical move, the administration and HR activities will be transferred as well, which means they will operate completely independent.
Although we are sorry to see them leave, our relationship continues through us sharing this story of our successful partnership with other US companies. Even though we are no longer involved with their operations, we are proud that we contributed to their growth in Europe. We wish them all the best with their new premises!
New partner for our industrial unit
Wednesday, April 17, 2013
We are proud to announce that we closed the deal with a new partner for our Industrial unit. They will start with our business development program by the first of May.
Our new partner is part of a bigger, globally operating organization that is founded in the 1950’s. Initially, they produced tooling systems for the pharmaceutical industry, but currently, they have several divisions and world wide locations.
The branch for which we will set up a European presence produces high end carbide products which belong to the hardest materials in the world and are used in a wear environment. Their products are mainly used in the oil and gas market but also in a number of other industries like textile and metal forming.
We look forward to starting with the program and to making another company successful in Europe.

Business in Europe through the eyes of an American entrepreneur
Friday, March 1, 2013
Recently entrepreneur ‘Martin Varsavsky’ posted an article on his blog about his successful move to Europe. He tells us that Europe offers significant opportunities for American companies. Especially nowadays because there are few chances to grow in their home markets and competition from Chinese companies increases. On the other hand he came across several differences in laws, the way of working and the way of doing business.
Some issues he describes we think are stigmatizing and outdated, however in general we recognize his frustrations that he shares with a lot of fellow American companies operating on the European Market.
