EuroDev has prepared a report of the North American and European M&A activity in the first half of 2018. The M&A activity report gives insight into key developments in both regions and the role of PE in the M&A activity.
Some key findings of this report are:
- Overall M&A activity slowed down in North America and Europe. However, transatlantic cross-border M&A grew.
- The outlook for 2018 remains bullish, as corporate deal making is expected to benefit from US tax reforms and steady economic growth. However, political and regulatory uncertainty are likely to remain a key concern.
- PE-backed firms continue to be on the rise, providing a further boost to deal activity.
