After months of negotiation, Canada and the European Union (EU) this week signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in Brussels. CETA is a comprehensive trade agreement between these two economic powers. It is committed to deepening trade and investment links.
Once applied, it will offer Canadian and EU firms more and better business opportunities and will support the creation of jobs for both parties.
CETA will remove customs duties, end restrictions on access to public contracts, open-up the services market, offer predictable conditions for investors and help prevent illegal copying of innovations and traditional products.
