Internship Profile

Internship: HR
Department: HR Outsourcing
Period: September 2023 - January 2024

My internship experience in the HR Outsourcing department was full of invaluable lessons and memorable moments that have contributed to my personal and professional development.

One key learning which I take away from my internship is the significance of fast decision making. The fast-paced nature of the HR Outsourcing unit, with a large number of clients required to navigate in a fluctuating environment with diverse scope of responsibilities does not leave a lot of room for making mistakes, as you are dealing with labour law of multiple European Union countries, employee & client documentation and much more. It teaches you the “next level” responsibility, keeping an eye on every small detail and making decisions quickly, on top of a valuable HR Consultant knowledge, which my colleagues were not shy to share!

Undoubtedly, the biggest challenge was navigating through a complex structure of the HR Outsourcing department, client information and how teams are structured, what are my responsibilities and those of other team members. As all projects have tight deadlines and high stakes - the pressure to get on board quickly was there, so it was a great time to work on my time management skills.

What helped me was the already established open communication channels with team members, a collaborative environment, and structuring my agenda without “overbooking” it, which, I admit, not always helped as the tasks might come unexpectedly with different levels of urgency. In that case, you learn to be flexible, but still persistent and not leave the task half-done while moving on to the next.

The most fun part was sharing my internship with 8 other great, fun, energetic and smart interns. The bond we had from the first week is still ongoing and it made my experience at EuroDev a very special one. Planning each other's birthdays, organizing weekend get-aways, corporate parties or just sitting all together on Fridays were some of my favourite moments which we shared and I look forward to many more:)

I will definitely keep the mindset of continuous improvement, which is strongly embedded in the culture of EuroDev and which I could observe in my colleagues during my internship. I learned to take the time I set for my goals more seriously and not prolong taking steps to achieve them, but acting here and now, reflecting, and moving on to what is next. I have realized that sometimes it would take me longer to start working on my personal goals, which is not the case anymore. Time is a resource and it is not unlimited - use it wisely!
