EuroDev Office in Almelo
In October 2025, we challenged a group of EuroDev interns to consider how artificial intelligence will change the international business internships at EuroDev. The interns have recorded changes through qualitative research, desk research, and reflection on their journey from the start to the end of their internships.

This blog helps explain how the International Business internships have changed thanks to AI, and which activities have been influenced the most. Finally, it provides the ideal intern persona that fits the International Business environment in 2026.

How is AI Evolving International Business Intern Positions?

After interviewing interns from the HR Outsourcing, Sales Outsourcing, Corporate Marketing, and Digital Marketing units, one remark was clear:  AI is developing the day-to-day tasks across all units.

Explained below is a summary of the job description changes for each International Business Internship at EuroDev.

Table 1. HR Outsourcing Intern Job Description before and after AI usage

Before AI

Before adopting AI, much of the time of HR Outsourcing interns was spent on manual administrative tasks in systems like SYMPA, including contract preparation, payroll management, and writing emails for partners, workers, and authorities.

Additionally, research tasks were tedious and required interns to go through regulations and laws to assist consultants. Time-consuming background reading was required for consultancy preparation, and sessions mostly concentrated on administrative support and repetitive onboarding. Because regular labour took up so much of their day, interns' exposure to dealing with clients and analytical duties was often limited.

After AI

By accelerating contract preparation, generating basic email drafts, and streamlining legislative research with concise information that interns can verify, AI has significantly sped up these operations. HR interns now attend more meetings, participate in client-relevant conversations, and concentrate on advice preparation because administration takes less time.

Additionally, AI helps them locate material fast, giving them more time to assess policy specifics and enhance communication. As a consequence, the internship now offers deeper and client-focused learning opportunities instead of repetitive administrative tasks.

Sales Outsourcing

Task Previous Workload % Current Workload %
Administration 15% 10%
Onboarding 3% 7%
 Lead Generation 25% 10%
 Reach Outs 35% 43%
Meetings 20% 26%
Trainings 2% 4%

Table 2. Sales Outsourcing Intern Job Description before and after AI usage

Before AI

In the past, Sales Outsourcing interns spent a lot of time constantly prospecting, looking through records, analysing business websites, and contacting relevant decision-makers. Lead qualification requires interns to write outreach messages from the start using generic templates and to understand company operations.

Because interns took notes by hand and handled follow-ups after each call, productivity was limited. Additionally, trade show research required long assessments, which reduced the amount of time available for strategic activities like improving outreach and studying the market.

After AI

By instantly identifying the right contacts and emphasising customer needs based on company behaviour, AI now speeds up lead generation. Interns may now concentrate on creating more personalised and successful outreach plans. By offering transcriptions and automatically generated plans of action, which interns review, AI also boosts meeting productivity.

Because AI filters events based on importance, trade fair searching has become more efficient, allowing interns to focus on preparation rather than search. With these improvements, interns spend much less time on repetitive lead research and more time developing their commercial skill set, conducting outreach, and setting up meetings.

Corporate Marketing

Task Previous Workload % Current Workload %
Lead Generation 12.50% 12.50%
Content Creation 10% 10%

Table 3. Corporate Marketing Intern Job Description before and after AI usage

Before AI

formerly corporate marketing interns spent a significant amount of time to writing content for websites, emails, blogs, and social media. Additionally, they managed administrative tasks including creating presentation slides, organising HubSpot data, updating papers, and creating contact lists. Interns occasionally have limited chances to develop into other marketing campaigns outside of email marketing due to these time-consuming activities.

After AI

AI now generates first drafts of content quickly, allowing interns to focus on quality, tone, and polishing. Because AI gives interns instant access to statistics and trends that they can verify, research activities have also sped. AI assistance has increased the efficiency of administrative activities like HubSpot cleaning and presentation changes.

Interns may now devote more time to creating new marketing campaigns, maintaining the website, testing out new concepts, and investigating other channels like A/B testing or LinkedIn automation. The internship has changed from operational repetition to strategic execution thanks to AI.

Digital Marketing

Task Previous Workload % Current Workload %
Account Management 18% 21%
Paid Ads 18% 18%
Website Development/Edits 18% 18%
Email Marketing 3% 3%
Content Creation 8% 6%
Social Media Management 8% 6%
Ideation 20% 25%
Reporting/Data Analysis 7% 3%

Table 4. Digital Marketing Intern Job Description before and after AI usage

Before AI

Interns in digital marketing were responsible for implementing technical website changes that exceeded the capabilities of visual builders like Elementor, manually translating content, thoroughly analyzing keywords, and creating graphic drafts or basic visual edits.

Additionally, they managed administrative duties including setting up Google Ads, establishing Tag Manager, executing analytics, and updating products. These tasks required a significant amount of time, especially when it came to understanding complex platform frameworks.

After AI

When Elementor is insufficient, AI now helps by generating code. Additionally, because AI generates basic drafts that interns edit for tone, culture, and branding, translations are finished much more quickly.

AI-generated lists now support keyword ideation, which interns then review. Interns personally improve early AI drafts of visual work. AI reduces initial stress and frees up interns' time for account management, platform operations, website optimisation, and strategic content selections, even if it cannot handle technical marketing execution on its own. Therefore, less time is spent on tedious preparation as the internship becomes more practical.
